Photo Friday Abandoned
The Morris Lighthouse at Folly Beach.
Originally located on land, the base is now under water except for brief periods of low tide. The last lighthouse keepers were relocated in 1938. It was decommissioned in 1962 and sold as surplus to a private citizen. It is now owned by a nonprofit organization who are working to preserve and stabilize it as much as possible.
